To celebrate the 81st anniversary of 'The Surgeon's Photo' - the most famous hoax photo of Nessie - we decided to help everyone around the world join the search for her using Google Maps.
We fixed our Street View trekker camera to ‘Deep Scan’ and set off with our guide and monster hunter Adrian Shine.
We not only captured Street View images all around the perimeter of the Loch, we also partnered with divers from Catlin Seaview to create the UK’s first ever underwater Street View, so everyone could join the hunt for Nessie.

Finally we created a Google Doodle to celebrate the anniversary, and to add to the many theories about Nessie…
