Without fail, at a certain time each summer, a peculiar kind of mass-hysteria breaks out in the UK. People start ripping off clothing, lying down in public places, doing things they wouldn’t have even dreamt of doing days before.
And it’s triggered by one very simple thing: the sun coming out.
The British public’s obsession with making the most of the summer sun borders on lunacy. But it’s also incredibly inspiring. Because even when the inevitable happens, and the clouds and rain come back, the great British public perseveres, and makes the most of it.
And that’s something Google can help with, as this film shows.
Together with 72&Sunny Amsterdam, we travelled 1500 miles around the country to create a national campaign bringing this phenomenon to life. From eating ice creams on the beach in Tenby, to playing tennis in the rain in Edinburgh, we put Britain’s bulldog spirit on full display.
And then we made the ads themselves helpful by using real time data - as this film explains:
